Manner Neapolitans are made up of five layers of fine wafers filled with four layers of fine hazelnut-flavored cream. The size of the Neapolitans is calculated so that they fit perfectly in the mouth. The double aluminum foil with the red opening strip was introduced in the 1960s and keeps the classic product fresh and crispy today.

Manner Original Neapolitaner Neapolitans were invented in 1898 by the company's founder, Josef Manner I. The size and basic recipe have remained unchanged to this day. Currently, up to 4000 Manner Neapolitans are sold daily in the Manner store on St. Stephen's Square in Vienna alone.
