Deltaica Herring Roe Salad is one of the most representative products of the Danube Delta, being a must-have at all the fishing feasts in the area.
The original recipe is Greek (taramasalata) and was valued by the Greek population in the Dobrogea area, but being adapted like other products to local ingredients, namely carp and pike roe, found in abundance in that area. The method was taken over and improved by all the inhabitants of the Delta, especially by the inhabitants of Sulina, Tulcea, Sf. Gheorghe and Chilia, the newly adapted recipe is clearly superior in flavor to the original recipe.

Deltaica is a brand of gastronomic fish products made based on traditional Delta recipes, with resources from the Danube Delta and the Black Sea, responsibly caught, with respect for nature.
