Mango trees are native to India. In the meantime, however, mango fruits are planted and harvested in almost all tropical areas of the world, such as South and Central America, Southeast Asia or Africa, where they are considered the "queen of fruits". However, the main producer is by far India, with an annual production of almost 30,000,000 tons. Indonesia is in second place with almost 3,500,000 tons.
Mango is not only juicy and tasty; its health value is sensational. It owes its good reputation to valuable nutrients, including vitamin C, fiber, polyphenols and provitamin A from carotenoids. Not only does it strengthen the immune system, but it also supports a healthy intestinal flora.
Use:
It is usually served fresh. Mango fruits are often integrated into ice cream, fruit mousse, yogurt, musli or cakes. Of course, they cannot be missing from any really good fruit salad.
Storage:
Mangoes should not be stored in the refrigerator, as it is too cold an environment for their tropical origin. Prolonged cold can affect its taste and aroma. Simply store at room temperature and refrigerate a maximum of 1-2 hours before consumption.
