Ghee is a type of clarified butter that originated in ancient India. It is made by heating unsalted butter, which separates the milk solids and water, leaving behind pure butterfat. It is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to butter, as it is lactose-free, casein-free and contains beneficial nutrients, such as vitamins A, D, E and K.
Warning: At temperatures above 25°C, the fat will liquefy, a natural phenomenon that does not affect its quality.
How to use
Ghee has a high burning point, making it ideal for cooking and frying at high temperatures, without burning or producing harmful free radicals. It can also be spread on toast and bread.
