Rinse the millet very well under hot running water (four times) to remove any bitterness, then simmer it in water until done.

Finely grate the carrots; chop the onion. Sauté the onion and carrots separately (lightly salt before frying) until softened.

In a bowl, combine the cooked millet, sautéed carrot and onion, crumbled tofu, all the spices, inactive yeast, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Then add cornstarch and corn flour to bind the mixture.
